## Description

Eildon Mid Hill is the highest of the three Eildon peaks, located in the Scottish Borders near Melrose. The distinctive triple-peaked hill is a prominent landmark visible for miles around. The walk offers excellent views across the Borders landscape. Beautiful gorse in spring, and purple heather in summer.

Pretty steep ascent that can be roughly divided into three sections:

- Starts off with a staircase, then climbs upwards to a gate with a sign for St. Cuthbert's Way. There's a bench here where you can rest
- The next climb goes all the way to the col between Eildon Mid Hill and Eildon North Hill.
- The last section is from the col to the summit. Loose rocks the entire way, so be careful as it is easy to slip and fall especially on the way down.

## Route

Start from Melrose town centre and follow the marked path up the slope. The terrain is steep in places but well-established. The summit offers panoramic views of the River Tweed valley and surrounding hills.
