Description¶
This scenic section of the John Muir Way takes you along the Forth coastline from the historic town of South Queensferry to the charming village of Bo’ness. The walk begins near the Queensferry Crossing and follows peaceful coastal paths with excellent views of the Firth of Forth. You’ll pass through the picturesque village of Blackness, known for its dramatic castle and waterfront setting. The route is relatively flat and easy, making it suitable for most fitness levels, and offers a wonderful introduction to Scotland’s industrial heritage and coastal scenery.

Public Toilets: Available on the High Street in South Queensferry and on Register Street in Bo’ness. There are toilets in Bo’ness Tesco too.
Safety: Shared coastal paths with other users - remain alert. Some sections can be exposed to wind and weather
Wildlife: Look out for seabirds and marine life along the Forth estuary
